KREMLIN TO SPACE.-Comrade N. S. Khrushchev's Telephone 1 Conversation With Comrade V. V. Tereshkova, the World's First Woman Cosmonaut. (Pravda, June 17, p. 1; Izvestia, June 18. Izvestia head: GREAT PRIDE. Complete text:) On June 16 at 4:55 p.m. Moscow time, Comrade N. S. Khrushchev, First Secretary of the C.P.S.U. Central Committee and Chairman of the U.S.S.R. Council of Ministers, spoke by telephone from the Kremlin with Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova, the world's first woman cosmonaut.
With Comrade N. S. Khrushchev at the telephone in the Kremlin were: Comrade L. I. Brezhnev, Chairman of the Presidium of the U.S.S.R. Supreme Soviet; Comrades A. I. Miko-yan and D. F. Ustinov, First Vice-Chairmen of the U.S.S.R. Council of Ministers; L. V. Smirnov, Vice-Chairman of the U.S.S.R. Council of Ministers; and Comrade I. D. Serbin, head of a department of the C.P.S.U. Central Committee.

V. V. Tereshkova. -To the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, the government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and Comrade Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev:
We have begun to carry out a joint space flight. Reliable radio communications have been established between our ships. We are close to each other. All systems in the ships are working perfectly. We feel fine. Soviet Cosmonauts Tereshkova and Bykovsky.
N. S. Khrushchev. -I hear you very well. They are calling you Seagull. Please permit me to call you simply Valya, Valentina. I am very glad and I am proud as a father would be that our girl, a girl of the Soviet land, is the first in the world to go into space and to master the most modern technology.
