Condensed text:) Des Moines-Pittsburgh, Sept. 24-We would like to begin an account of this day at the end. Receiving the head of the Soviet government late in the evening on Sept. 23, Mayor T. Gallagher of Pittsburgh presented him with the keys to one of the largest cities of America. The gift was highly symbolic. Only to the most esteemed guests do American mayors present gold keys to their cities. ...
The people of Des Moines bade farewell to N. S. Khrushchev as to a most cherished guest. Despite the early hour thousands of people congregated in front of the Fort Des Moines Hotel yesterday, greeting the appearance of the head of the Soviet government with applause and shouts of welcome. N. S. Khrushchev warmly said good-bye to the hotel staff and shook hands with residents of Des Moines surrounding him.

state with pride: "Our Iowa!" "Our country!" Nature seems to have done everything for man here. No wonder Iowa's agriculture is the most highly developed. The farmers are making skillful use of natural conditions and have amassed excellent experience.
