The Outlook of the Culture of Military Security: History and Modernity*


Colonel S.A. VERSHILOV, Candidate of Sciences (Philosophy)

Sergei A. VERSHILOV was born in the settlement of Lyangeri, Kirovsky District, Sakhalin Region, in 1958. In 1979, he finished the Kurgan Higher Military-Political Aviation School and served with the troops of the North Caucasian and Central Asian military districts. In 1992, he graduated from the Humanitarian Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Department of Military Pedagogy, Division of Philosophy. In 1998, he defended a candidate's thesis and was awarded the academic degree of candidate of sciences in philosophy. In 2000, he completed an extramural postgraduate military course at the Military University of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. In 2001, he was awarded the academic rank of associate professor. He has been teaching students since 1992. Currently he is Associate Professor at the Chair of Combat Training and Flight Security of the 4th Aviation Department of the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School for Pilots at the town of Balashov.

The variety of forms of being has always been and is the result of numerous ways of people's adaptation to the various circumstances in which they emerged and subsequently developed. The range of these circumstances had a dual meaning with respect to the process of beginning and continuation of development of the culture of military security.

Firstly, it was a direct impact, where a set of maximally viable ways and means of ensuring the existence of the social medium were resorted to.
