Sergei G. CHEKINOV was born on September 6, 1960. He graduated from the Higher Radio Engineering School of Air Defense in Kiev (1982), Lomonosov Moscow State University (1993), the Marshal Zhukov Military Command Academy of Air Defense (1999), and a course at the Retraining and Skill Improvement Department of the Military Academy of the RF AF General Staff (2002). He served with the Air Defense Troops and the Air Force, and at the Center for Military Strategic Research at the RF AF General Staff.

Since May 2009, he has been head of the Center. Col. Chekinov is a Doctor of Technical Sciences and author of more than 80 research papers.

Sergei A. BOGDANOV was born in the city of Pyatigorsk, Stavropol Territory, in 1939. He graduated from the Guards Tank School in Ulyanovsk (1963), the Marshal Malinovsky Military Academy of Armored Forces (1974), the Military Academy of the RF AF General Staff (1980), and the Academy of National Economy under the RF Government.

For over 20 years Sergei Bogdanov served in the army holding various command-and-staff jobs with the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany, and in the Siberian and the Urals military districts. In 1980, he was assigned to the General Staff. For two years he headed the Main Operations Directorate of the RF Armed Forces. From 1990 to 1995, he was head of the Center for Military and Strategic Studies, General Staff. Between March 1996 and December 1997, he was head of the Center for Border Studies, RF Federal Frontier Service. A Doctor of Military Sciences and a professor, he is a full member of the RF Academy of Military Sciences. S. Bogdanov is chairman of the Dissertation Board of the Center for Military and Strategic Studies of the General Staff of RF Armed Forces.
