Edouard V. SHATALOV was born in the town of Priozersk, Leningrad Region, on May 24, 1960. He graduated from the Higher Military Engineering School of Chemical Defense in Saratov (1983). He served at RF MoD Research Center 33, progressing from junior research associate to deputy head of the Center for research-and-testing work. In 1990, he obtained a candidate degree, and in 1996, his doctoral thesis. He took part in eliminating the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.

Upon discharge he continued work at Research Center 33 as chief research associate. He holds the academic rank of professor.

Vladimir A. SHANESHKIN was born in the city of Murmansk on June 20, 1951. He graduated from the Higher Military Command School of Chemical Protection in Kostroma (1974), and the Marshal Timoshenko Military Academy of Chemical Defense (1983). He served in the Kiev Military District, and at RF MoD Research Center 33 where he progressed from junior research associate to department head. He obtained a candidate degree (1992), and his doctoral thesis (2000). He took part in eliminating the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. Upon discharge he worked as head lecturer at the Military Institute for Biological and Chemical Security in Saratov. Since February 2010, he has been a leading research associate at Research Center 33.

Vitaly M. BENDIK was born in the village of Georgiyevka, Zharma District, Semipalatinsk Region on August 6, 1974. He graduated from the Higher Military Engineering School of Chemical Defense in Saratov (1998) and the Marshal Timoshenko Military Academy of Chemical Defense (2006). He served in the Northwest District of the Interior Ministry Troops of Russia as regiment and brigade head of the radiation, chemical and biological defense

service. In 2001, he took part in the antiterrorist operation ...
